KMB’s 33rd Apprentice Graduation Ceremony
KMB’s 33rd Apprentice Graduation Ceremony, presided over by Legco member the Honourable Miriam Lau Kin-yee, GBS, JP and Mr. Andrew Wong Wang-fat, JP, Honorary Advisor of the KMB Technical Training School, has been held. 16 graduates will join KMB's bus maintenance and repair team to provide high quality support services for bus operations.
Mr. Edmond Ho, KMB Managing Director, said, “By leveraging our core strengths of innovation, teamwork, operational efficiency and service excellence, we continue to provide world class public bus services to Hong Kong residents and visitors alike, and to live up to our reputation as a trendsetter in the public bus industry. KMB is fully aware of the importance of a professional workforce in delivering high service standards and meeting future challenges, and invests in staff training and continuous learning.”
Mr. Ho continued, “We recognise that competent, highly-skilled technicians are key to our operational excellence, and regard the investment we make in training apprentices to become professionals in the field of bus maintenance as one foundation of our continued success. A testament to the quality of our Training School is the proud record of success achieved by KMB apprentices over the years in territory-wide competitions held by the Vocational Training School.” Established in 1973, the KMB Technical Training School provides apprentices with knowledge about and practical training in the latest technologies employed in the field of maintenance and repair. The KMB Technical Training School is the longest established school of its kind in Hong Kong, with more than 2,000 apprentices graduating from the training school in the last 30 years. At present, the school has an enrolment of 240 apprentices.
