KMB and Long Win to Extend Sunday/Public Holiday Fare Discount for the Elderly

The Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited (KMB) and Long Win Bus Company Limited (LW) announce that both companies will extend the Sunday/Public Holiday Fare Discount for the elderly to31 January 2011.

During the fare concession period, all people aged 65 and above paying with a Senior Citizens’ Octopus Card will pay a flat fare of $2.00 or half of the standard adult fare (whichever is lower) on Sundays and Public Holidays. The discount scheme applies to all KMB routes (except racecourse routes) and all LW routes (except Airport “A” routes).

The decision is made following a careful evaluation byKMBand LW of their operating environment and financial situation.Owing to increases in wages, tunnel toll charges and other operating costs, and the commissioning of theMTR’s Kowloon Southern Link,KMBand LW continue to face a very tough and challenging operating environment.
