“Friends of KMB” Participated in Po Leung Kuk’s Elderly Service Campaign

The “Friends of KMB” (FRN) supported Po Leung Kuk’s “District Elderly Service” campaign and visited the elderly in Nam Cheong Estate and Yuen Chau Estate recently. Around 25 members of FRN split into small groups to both gain understanding of the daily lives of the elderly and show their concern and care for them. Members of FRN also did aerobics and news sharing with the elderly and taught them hand signs. They also gave the elderly hand-made handicrafts as presents to round off the happy weekend afternoon. .

One of the members of FRN who participated in the event said, “I am happy to see that the elderly participated in today’s event with great enthusiasm. They indeed need love and care and I hope that I can participate more in elderly service in the future to bring them more warmth and laughter.”

“Friends of KMB” is a volunteer organisation established by KMB. Besides encouraging members to be self-disciplined and to help and serve others by observing simple civic duties when travelling with KMB, the club has also organised various charitable events and social service activities for its members in the hope of promoting the spirit of social concerns and care for others.
