KMB Presents Safe Driving Award to over 700 Bus Captains

Providing passengers with safe and reliable bus journeys has always been KMB’s number one priority. Besides continuously improving the design of buses and implementing a stringent maintenance programme for its fleet, KMB also places great emphasis on bus captains’ safe driving attitude and provides them with relevant training. To recognise the achievements of bus captains in road safety, KMB launched the Safe Driving Award. In 2010, 724 bus captains with “zero accident” * records for five years or more received the award.

Among the award-winning bus captains, 671 of them have achieved a “zero accident” record for five to 15 years, with another 53 for up to 20 years or more. 23 of them have even achieved a “zero accident” record for up to 25 years or more. All award-winning bus captains were presented with a certificate of appreciation, while bus captains with a “zero accident” record for 20 years or more also received a plaque.

The Safe Driving Award was first introduced in 1990 and is held annually with the aim of promoting the importance of road safety.

* “zero accident” refers to no-liability accidents
