KMB Website Launches “Street View” Browse Function

The KMB Website (www.kmb.hk) has broken new ground with the introduction of the brand-new “Street View” browser for its online point-to-point route search function. By conducting a 360-degree photo tour of the street near the bus stop, passengers can familiarise themselves with the location of the bus stop in its surroundings, as if they were actually on the street.

Besides displaying the photos of all its 5,000 bus stops and showing them on the map, the KMB website recently added a “Street View” browser to its route search function, enabling passengers to make more accurate bus-stop searches. When obtaining information on a specified bus routes, passengers who press the “Street View” button beside the bus-stop photo will be immediately taken on a tour of the street made up of photos taken on site. Passengers are able to view buildings, facilities and landmarks near the bus stop, as if there were actually there. The new function not only enables passengers to better locate bus stops where they intend to board and alight; it also makes the search experience more enjoyable by including lively street scenes.

KMB launched its website in 1995 as an enhanced communication channel for its passengers, and new elements and functions have been added to the website from time to time since then. The KMB website has received many awards, including “Meritorious Website”, “Healthy Website” and “WebCare Award”.
