KMB Launches the Dennis Jubilant Luxury Bus Model
Between 1977 and 1982, KMB introduced 364 Dennis Jubilant double-deck buses. One of them was equipped with an air-conditioning system and luxury seats and was put on trial from 1980 to 1983. As the air-conditioning system was installed at the back of the bus on the lower deck, the floor and the windows in the rear part of the lower deck were raised. The layout of this Dennis Jubilant bus was of a 2+2 style with high-back luxury seats and the livery featured a unique “luxury” colour. During the trial period, the bus was allocated to Route 206, which served residents in the Mei Foo area. Upon completion of the trial in 1983, the bus was turned back into an ordinary bus and given the last number in the series: N364.
KMB is launching for the first time the Dennis Jubilant luxury bus model, which closely resembles the original bus and is meticulously produced to accurate proportions. The model carries the Route 206 route plate, which was the luxury bus route operating between Mei Foo and Tsim Sha Tsui in those days. Production of the model is limited to 1,000 pieces and each model comes with a certificate of worldwide guarantee of limited production. The price of each bus model is HK$298. Since the quantity is limited, those interested in purchasing the model are advised to act quickly.
The public is welcome to visit the following KMB Customer Service Centres to purchase the bus model: Tsuen Wan Railway Station Bus Terminus (near the Station Supervisor’s Room), Sha Tin Town Centre Bus Terminus, Tuen Mun Town Centre Bus Terminus, Lam Tin Railway Station Bus Terminus, Mei Foo Bus Terminus, Star Ferry Bus Terminus, the Bus Interchange at the Hung Hom Cross Harbour Tunnel, and Tin Heng Bus Terminus in Tin Shui Wai.
